SAL and The University of Jeddah Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation to Enhance Education and Training in the Logistics Sector

SAL Logistics Services, the national leader in cargo handling, logistics solutions, and supply chain management in Saudi Arabia, has signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation with the University of Jeddah aimed at strengthening academic–industry and the signed was on the sidelines of the 7th Supply Chain Conference held in Riyadh from 15–16 December.

The partnership seeks to develop joint educational and training pathways that combine academic qualifications with practical application, through the design of specialized programs and professional development mechanisms that prepare talent capable of meeting the growing needs of the logistics sector. The also includes collaboration in specialized consulting, as well as supporting research and innovation in transportation and supply chain management. In addition, it aims to enhance operational capabilities in alignment with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.

The cooperation between both parties is built on the exchange of scientific and practical expertise through specialized visits and joint studies, in addition to launching research initiatives and development programs that address sector challenges and improve service quality in line with global best practices. The memorandum of cooperation further opens new avenues for professional development by organizing conferences, academic seminars, and workshops that connect experts and practitioners. It also supports digital learning initiatives through the development of modern platforms and training programs that equip youth with future skills.

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Saleh Al-Daini, Chief Shared Services Officer at SAL, emphasized that the partnership with the University of Jeddah represents an important step toward investing in education, stating, “We are proud to sign this cooperation with the University of Jeddah as a key academic and strategic partner. This step is a direct investment in people—ensuring the graduation of national talent equipped with the academic knowledge and practical experience needed to lead the future of the logistics sector in line with Vision 2030.”

From his side, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Harbi, Dean of the College of Business at the University of Jeddah, stated that the signing of this cooperation memorandum with SAL Logistics Services reflects the University’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with the private sector. These partnerships help align educational outcomes with labor-market needs and strengthen students’ practical and academic capabilities. He emphasized that this collaboration represents an effective model of integration between the academic and logistics sectors, supporting the development of national talent and reinforcing the University’s role in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

This partnership embodies a distinguished model of integration between the private sector and academia, as SAL and the University of Jeddah work together to build clear pathways for competency development and applied knowledge, supporting the Kingdom’s competitiveness and strengthening its position as a leading regional and global logistics and knowledge hub.
